Enrolled in the doctoral programme since May 2024, Alina Franci is conducting a thesis in collaboration between the ULB Centre for Public and Social Law and the Centre for European Law, within the framework of a ‘mini-arc project’ scholarship and under the supervision of prof. Emmanuel Slautski and prof. Chiara Armeni. She’s conducting a doctoral thesis on cities and climate change, investigating the role of law on their climate governance.
Alina Franci obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation (with a legal focus) at the University of Milan and an LL.M in Law and Sustainable Development from the University of Milan, with a specialisation in environmental law. During her years of study she did an Erasmus stay at KU Leuven, and an Erasmus Traineeship at Climaxi (an association part of Friends of the Earth). Finally, Alina Franci did a semester at the ULB Centre for European law as a fellowship student for the realisation of her Master’s thesis on sustainable cities and active citizen participation.
